Myēsis

Myēsis is a multichannel performance for voice, water and electronics. The ancient Greek word Μύησις (initiation) refers to the transformative act and process of entering into sacred mysteries. In ancient rites, myēsis marked the passage from the known to the hidden, from the outer world into an inner realm of revelation, silence, and metamorphosis.

Drawing inspiration from existential ancient philosophies, the performance unfolds as an aural rite of passage, exploring the ritualistic and invocatory power of the human voice. Each piece becomes an invocation – summoning memory, subconscious, nature, and mystical practices through a contemporary lens.
