NAMELIKE GHI ENDE IC (2025)

For voice, medieval vielle, hurdy-gurdy.
Composed for and with Sibil•la Ensemble and premiered on the 13th of September 2025, in Muze van Zuid Festival.
Namelike ghi ende ic is inspired by the writings of Dutch mystic, poet, and visionary Hadewijch van Brabant (ca. 1200 – ca.1260), whose writings are among the earliest and most powerful works in Middle Dutch.
Translation from Middle Dutch:
Namely you and I – we who still have not become what we are, who still have not acquired what we have;
who still are so far away from what is ours, we have to let go everything without reservation and exclusively,
fearlessly learn the perfect life of the love, that has stirred both of us to her Labour.
.
LĒOHT (2024)

LOVE SONG TO A. (2023)

For three female voices.
The text is taken from The Love Song of J. Alfred Purfrock by T.S Eliot.
The epigraph of the poem derives from the Inferno of Dante’s Divine Comedy (XXVII, 61-66).
“I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think that they will sing to me.
I have seen them riding seaward on the waves Combing the white hair of the waves blown back When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown Till human voices wake us, and we drown.”
.
REMEMBER (ΔΩΡΙΑ) (2022)

.
HOME IS WHERE (2021)

SILENT LANDS (2020)

Audio Album for voice and electronics
Audio album composed by Andreas Moustoukis (electronics) and Kristia Michael (voice)
listen to it on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube

“END of the world”, “Silent Land” and “Desert” from the album SILENT LANDS were premiered at The State Hermitage museum as soundtracks for the exhibition of works by Albrecht Dürer (1471 — 1528).
The works are included in a playlist created by the composer Andreas Moustoukis.
Words by the composer:
<<In some way alchemists and lovers are similar. The illusion of love, as a fact that transforms life and heals pain, saves from death and destruction, is like the illusion of an alchemist and an obsessive transformation to gold!
Why gold and why love? Is love gold?
Or vice versa?
These naive fundamental questions have an inner reflection in the origin of life, soul and God itself. The relationship between the lover and the alchemist is unique and primary to understanding of European culture and roots. These two faces of the same person (the lover and the alchemist) are deeply connected to the search for the meaning of life and the nature of existence! This is how I thought about the music and the figure of the knight that passes sad but boldly in front of the inevitable faces of death, pain, destruction and darkness.>>
